How do you help people in my community?

FINCA works in the world’s most desperate communities, from Afghanistan to Zambia, from Ecuador to Tajikistan, in 21 countries across Africa, Eurasia, the Greater Middle East and Latin America, but FINCA does not have a program in the U.S.

Why do you need my support?

We ask for your support so that we can expand opportunities for women in Afghanistan, Haiti and the other countries where we work. With your generous donation, more women will be given the chance to employ their creativity and natural business acumen to overcome obstacles, create small enterprises, and improve their families’ quality of life. Your support will continue to circulate throughout communities, touching new families, as it is repaid and relent as working capital. On average, a gift of $100 today will provide $900 worth of loans to as many as 18 women over the next three years. You won’t find a better or more powerful return for your charitable donation.

FINCA has a two-and-a-half decade history of working in war zones and post-war zones, in areas where AIDS and HIV are rampant, and in areas torn by ethnic strife. After all, these are the places where people need us most.

FINCA programs work closely with our low-income clients, providing them with the tools to raise their incomes and enter the global economy. We offer an array of microfinance services, and we tailor those services to local circumstances and to what clients say they want.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

FINCA is a wise and remarkably efficient steward of the support it receives from its many loyal donors. FINCA’s annual report and other financial statements may be viewed on www.FINCA.org. In 2009, 93 percent of FINCA’s operating expenses went to program services, 5 percent were spent on general and administrative expenses, and just 2 percent were used for fundraising.
